Privacy Tip for Married Couples

    I had the opportunity to talk to a long time client of mine today, Patti and Jim.  Jim recently had a medical situation that landed him in the hospital for 80 days.  Part of that time he was in a coma for a month.  In the past Jim had handled all the finances for their family.  When Jim ended up in a coma Patti was put in a position where she had to call of their service providers regarding paying bills.  Patti found it very frustrating when vendors wouldn’t speak to her because her name wasn’t on the account.  One vendor asked “is Jim there so we can speak to him”?  Patti replied back “do you know what a coma is?”   
    So, as a result of this experience Patti suggested we advice our clients make sure and list both husband and wife on all accounts / vendor relationships.  Thank you Patti for the great advice.  And we are praying for a speedy and full recovery for Jim.
